S.M.D.R.S.D. College Society, Pathankot started S.M.D.R.S.D. College of Education in the year 1998 and the foundation stone was laid down by revered Late Ch. Balwant Singh Ji, who had a vision to start this college for the benefit of the people who could not afford higher education outside the town. The college has proved itself a pioneer institution of its kind as it’s the first institute of the region to start B.Ed. and E.T.T courses. Initially it began with an intake of 60 students which grew to 100 in the coming years. Presently it is having two units of 50 students each (Total one hundred students) of B.Ed. programme and a single unit of 50 students of D.El.Ed. (E.T.T.)programme. This college has the honour to be recognized by NCTE and affiliation with GNDU, Amritsar. This college all the time envisions the quest for excellence and endeavors its mission to prepare competent and committed performers with an urge for excellence anywhere in the changing & challenging scenario.
